Amish furniture is truly heirloom furniture. Our selection is quality crafted in the world's largest Amish community in Ohio. Made in the USA. In Holmes county, there are hundreds of Amish Furniture shops, each specializing in their own style and piece. For example, one shop makes chairs while another crafts tables. A third will specialize in hutches. Each item is built with great care and pride, as though the piece were made for their own Amish home. Every piece that leaves the shop is considered a reflection of the Amish craftsman. Most shops are located on the Amish farm, without electricity. Instead, diesel engines and generators are used. Each Amish furniture store is close knit; either family members or a close friend make up the few employees. After the unfinished item is crafted, it is carefully inspected to ensure it is free of cracks or sanding marks. A stained and a sealer is applied. Sanding gives the piece a smooth satiny feel. The last step is to apply two layers of topcoat to give your furniture a great look, extra protection, and truly a heirloom quality. All drawers are dovetailed front and back. Drawers are made of hardwood. All materials used are the best available kiln dried Northern Hardwoods. High quality plywood is used on some sides to prevent warping and cracking to last a lifetime. The back of each item is wood, not cardboard. Raised panels are a 5-piece construction. Table come standard with 1" solid tops. All chair legs are glued and pinned or screwed to provide extra sturdiness. Full extension slides are on all drawers. Two coats of finish are sprayed onto each piece.
